Wellness Shots w/ Good Life Juice

fighting the flu

I definitely haven't make this a secret.

I've been sick for the last month.  No kidding.  Thirty days of feeling under the weather and dealing with flu-like symptoms.

I've heard this sickness is going around... And it's a really nasty bug to get rid of.

Enter the LOVELY Andrea of Good Life Juice - who recently came to my rescue and dropped a few of her new wellness shots off at my house.

I am literally indebted to her for the rest of my life.

I'm glad to say that I am on my way to recovery - and feeling better as the days go on.

This is largely thanks to a whole week's worth of rest, and a lot of cold medication.

But this got my thinking...

Wellness shots.  What's the deal - exactly?

growth and expansion

I've been friends with Andrea and the team at Good Life Juice for a few years now.

In my opinion, they make the best cold-pressed juice on Vancouver Island. Their flavour combinations are elegant, effective and extremely delicious.

And Andrea knows her shit.

Good Life Juice recently opened their first store-front location in Nanaimo.  And as a result, they've launched a whole series of new products.

These wellness shots are just the tip of the iceberg.

I'm a huge fan of convenience.  If something's easy... I'm all for it.

And to be honest, that's one of the reason I love cold-pressed juice so much.  It's a convenient and relatively painless way to ingest a day's worth of veggies.

When I feel my body drifting toward the realm of sickness, I always reach for my juice.

I've been recommended oil of oregano more times than I can count, and I've been told it really works.  But I just can't stand the texture and taste of putting it directly on my tongue.

I wanted to know more about these wellness shots.

Instead of cutting and pasting a whole bunch of random information, I thought I'd head right to the expert herself.

ingredient spotlight

Andrea was kind enough to help me with the info - and answer some of my questions. A special thank you to Andrea for all of her support.

Why Wellness Shots?

I wanted to find a fun and efficient way for people to ingest some seriously potent ingredients that didn’t require them to have an entire 16oz juice.

What's healthy about them?

They are an easy way to get a concentrated dose of superfoods – real food ingredients that have medicinal properties and/or an especially high nutrient content.

We're talking concentrated goodness.

I asked Andrea if she could describe her wellness shots in detail.

Beauty Shot is packed with ingredients that help fight free-radicals, improve the texture of your skin, reduce wrinkles and aid in tissue repair.

This one is by far my favourite shot, as I am obsessed with taking Marine Collagen on a daily basis.  It’s the only thing I ingest that I can honestly say made a difference to the fine lines and wrinkles on my face.

Plus, I have a lot of sports injuries, so I consciously eat foods and take supplements that aid in tissue-repair and muscle-recovery.

I think the flavour is totally divine and completely unique!

What are the ingredients?

An important building block for healthy hair, skin, nails, and bones, increases the elasticity and moisture of the skin and helps heal the gut lining

A form of naturally occurring sulphur, it provides the sulphur needed for collagen formation, strengthens hair and nails, and improves flexibility and joint health

Healing and hydrating to the skin and soothing to the digestive tract, gelatinous foods like aloe aid digestion and detoxification, leaving you glowing from the inside out

Associated with beauty and love, rose petals are rich in antioxidants that protect and nourish the skin.

Turmeric Shot is great for reducing inflammation – the root of many diseases.

The active ingredient is called curcumin - which in addition to being a powerful anti-inflammatory - also has anti-oxidant, anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-cancer properties.

Adding a pinch of black pepper increases curcumin bioavailability by 2000%!

What are the ingredients?

Anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-cancer agent

Our local honey is rich in anti-oxidants and enzymes.  It also soothes a sore throat and reduces allergies to local pollens.

Lemon is very high in vitamin C - as we all know.  It's a powerful antioxidant that helps boost immunity and contains free-radical fighting flavonoids.

Black pepper aids in the absorption of curcumin.

The E3 + C Shot combines two of nature’s most nutrient-rich marine superfoods to nourish your body at the cellular level. This chlorophyll-rich shot will boost energy, aid detoxification, and feed immunity.

What are the ingredients?

E3 Live is a wild-harvested blue-green algae that is one of the most nutrient-dense superfoods on the planet.  It's packed to the brim with highly bioavailable vitamins, minerals, proteins and essential fats.

E3 live is fresh-frozen at the source to retain its raw and living state.

This single-celled freshwater algae is nature's richest source of chlorophyll - aiding detoxification of heavy metals, boosting immunity and nourishing the blood.

This is a sponsored post.  Good Life Juice gave me these wellness shots to try.

When it comes to paid content and product exchanges, I try to remain as transparent and honest as possible with both my sponsors and my readers.  I have very strict testing and review guidelines.  I only post articles on my blog about products that are in my life on a regular basis.  I do not endorse products or work with companies I do not feel a personal connection to or absolutely love.

In the case of Good Life Juice, I am absolutely obsessed and completely addicted to their products, so the collaboration was an easy decision.
